New Pipeline In Reeves County Already Transporting Natural Gas

By: Dylan Brooks
Updated: May 17, 2012
REEVES COUNTY -- A new pipeline is already taking natural gas across Reeves County.

Clayton Williams' Christopher Columbus Pipeline Project is currently moving 2 million cubic feet of natural gas flowing through it a day.

The first 60 miles of the pipeline opened in March, and the pipeline should carry oil by July.

The pipeline will eventually connect with Southern Union in Coyanosa, and it will allow oil and gas to be transported from Clayton Williams' rig sites in Reeves County to that location.

The pipeline could eventually transport oil and gas from other companies as well.

Ground was broken for the $60 million pipeline in November 2011.

It's expected that the pipeline will have a positive impact on the Reeves County community.
