Commissioners Decide Not To Re-Enact Burn Ban In Ector County

Commissioners unanimously decided to not enact a burn ban in Monday's meeting.
Commissioners lifted the ban for the second time in 2012, at their May 28th meeting.
The Ector County burn ban was first lifted on February 14th, but it was reinstated on April 23rd.
Commissioners say the drought index isn't currently high enough to warrant a burn ban.
The Texas Forest Service says Andrews, Ector, Midland and Reeves Counties are the only West Texas counties not under a burn ban.
Midland County commissioners lifted the county's burn ban on January 11th.
