MIDLAND COUNTY --  Texas Department of Public Safety troopers have released the name of a woman killed in a head-on collision in northeastern Midland County.

D.P.S. troopers say that Catherine Elaine Porter of Stanton died around 10:20 PM on June 30th at Odessa Regional Medical center.

Catherine Porter, 35, was an equine therapist from Stanton.

Troopers say that the 2005 Ford pickup truck that Catherine Porter was riding in smashed head-on into a 2004 International rig truck along TX 137 just north of F.M. 307 just after 4:30 PM on June 30th.

The International truck was driving north in the southbound lane of the road when it collided with the pickup, which was headed south.

Catherine Porter was airlifted to O.R.M.C. after the crash with serious injuries, but she died at the hospital less than 6 hours after the crash.

The driver of the pickup -- Russell Sunny Porter -- was also rushed to O.R.M.C after the wreck.

Troopers say Russell Porter, 38, was last  listed in critical condition at the hospital.

The driver of the International -- Devin Lee Speers of Ada, OK -- was rushed to Midland Memorial Hospital with serious head injuries as well.

Speers was reportedly last listed in critical condition at M.M.H.

Troopers say no one involved in the crash was wearing a seat belt.
