BIG SPRING-- The new Troy M. Hogue Law Enforcement Center in Big Spring had its naming ceremony on Thursday morning.

Trooper Troy M. Hogue was killed in the line of duty on the night of December 30, 1994.

Trooper Hogue had been with the Texas Department of Public Safety for several years and had been a member of the Big Spring Police Department for over 14 years.

Trooper Hogue's family attended the naming ceremony and were pleased with the turnout.

Jennifer Christy, Trooper Hogue's daughter said "I'm so happy that they honored him in this way and it was a good turn out a lot of people were here and it meant a lot to us".

His son, Bobby Hogue, was there to honor his father and said that his father was a shy man and would be humbled by this ceremony.

Big Spring's Mayor Tommy Duncan also attended the ceremony and said "I think naming as the Trooper Troy M Hogue Law Enforcement Center is very very appropriate.  Trooper Hogue was good friends with Highway Patrolman, sheriff's deputies and policeman throughout this community."

The center will house both the Howard County Sheriff's Office and the Big Spring Police Department.  Through this combination, it will both serve law enforcement needs and save local tax money.

The Troy M. Hogue Law Enforcement Center is located at 3611 West Hwy 80, Big Spring, TX.
