Hobbs, NM Police Chief On Administrative Leave

HOBBS, NM -- The police chief of Hobbs, NM  has been placed on administrative leave.

    Hobbs city officials tell Big 2 that Chief J.D. Sanders was placed on administrative leave on August 30th.

    Hobbs Police also have opened an investigation involving sanders for what the department is calling a "personal matter."

    Hobbs officials say Sanders will remain on administrative leave until the investigation is finished.

    It's not clear if Sanders is at risk of losing his job pending the investigation.
