ODESSA -- The Odessa Chamber of Commerce is throwing its support behind the Ector County I.S.D. bond proposal.

The chamber announced its support of the upcoming E.C.I.S.D. bond election at a press conference Tuesday.

The chamber recently passed a resolution stating its formal support of the $129,750,000 bond measure.

If passed, the bond would fund 3 new elementary schools and shift the district to a Middle School Model.

The Odessa Chamber of Commerce considers the bond proposal to be a workforce issue.

"The students of E.C.I.S.D. are our future employees, or have the potential to be our future employees," Odessa Chamber of Commerce Board Chair Sandra Eoff told Big 2. "We feel an obligation that they have a the proper environment to learn well."

The E.C.I.S.D. bond will be on the ballot for the November 6th election in Ector County.
