MIDLAND -- The T-Bar Ranch Pipeline project is progressing ahead of schedule.

As of Wednesday, the 76 mile pipeline is 21 percent complete.

Teams of workers have already begun drilling the water wells, completed 4 of 9 road crossings along the pipeline and constructed storage tank foundations.

Once complete, the pipeline will carry 20 million gallons of water a day from the 22,179 acre T-Bar Ranch Water Well Field in Winkler and Loving Counties to the Midland.

The City of Midland owns the land and water rights at the T-Bar Ranch Water Field.

Once the pipeline is operational, water should flow to the Tall City uninterrupted for at least 40 years.

The $200 million project is Midland's largest ever public works project.

The whole project is expected to be completed by June 1, 2013.
