WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Supreme Court of the United States begins a new term today and justices face another potentially historic docket.

A range of explosive issues are expected to come before the Court over the next several months.

They include affirmative action in university recruiting; same-sex marriage; voting rights; and abortion.

One legal analyst told CNN this could be the biggest Supreme Court term in at least a decade.

You'll remember the last term ended with major cases including the controversial so-called "Obamacare" health care law.
