MIDLAND COUNTY -- An accident between two semi-trucks temporarily shut down part of Interstate 20 Tuesday morning.

Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers tell Big 2 that the accident happened about 3:20 AM Tuesday in a construction zone near mile marker 147 on Interstate 20.

A semi-truck reportedly hit another big rig that was parked in the westbound lanes of the interstate.

As of Tuesday afternoon, it was unclear how many people were injured in the accident. TXDOT crews on scene could only say all those involved were in stable condition.

The accident closed down the westbound portion of Interstate between mile markers 147 and 148 for about five hours. During the closure, westbound traffic was diverted on to County Road 829 (near mile marker 149).

The accident was cleared up by 10 AM Tuesday, and the interstate was re-opened.
