ODESSA -- An Odessa man is accused of stabbing his girlfriend in the leg with a machete.

Brandall Steve Green was arrested on October 3rd.

Odessa Police say that Green, 28, stabbed his girlfriend in the upper thigh with a machete during an argument at the Palm II Apartments (613 Express Way) on September 27th.

The victim reportedly told police that no one stabbed her, but witnesses said that a man ran away from the apartment before officers got to the scene.

The victim eventually told officers that Green was responsible for the attack, but she asked that he not face charges so that he wouldn't get in trouble.

Police moved to arrest Green anyway.

Now, Green is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Green was being held in the Ector County Law Enforcement Center without a posted bond Friday.
