MIDLAND COUNTY -- A work truck driver ends up in the hospital, after rear-ending an oil field vehicle along a Midland County road.

The crash happened along F.M 1788 near TX 191 around 2:45 PM Monday.

Midland Police tell Big 2 a white Ford F-150 work truck was following an oilfield product and supply trailer -- which was hauling a Big Cat steam shovel -- too closely in the northbound lanes of F.M. 1788 when the trailer slowed down to make a turn off the road.

The Ford F-150 couldn't stop in time, and it smashed into the trailer.

The driver of the F-150 was rushed to Midland Memorial Hospital with minor injuries after the wreck.

The F-150 driver also got tickets for failure to control speed and following too closely.
