MIDLAND -- On Saturday, October 13th, at 3:06p.m., the Midland Police and Fire Departments responded to the 4500 block of N Lamesa in reference to an accident with injuries.

Upon arrival, it was found that one driver was deceased at the scene.

The investigation revealed that a Chevy Lumina was traveling north on Lamesa toward Loop 250 driving erratically, according to witnesses. The Lumina then veered across the road into the southbound lanes striking a Dodge pickup traveling south.

The driver and only occupant of the Lumina, Chakalia Jackson age 34 years from Midland, was pronounced deceased at the scene. She was not wearing a seatbelt.
