Injured Midland County Bullfighter Now In Medically-Induced Coma

By: Dylan Brooks
Updated: October 16, 2012
TYLER -- An injured Midland County bullfighter has been placed into an induced medical coma.

According to the Facebook page Prayers and Support for Cody Hollums, doctors at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler have decided to place Cody Hollums into a medically-induced coma.

The sedation -- which could last anywhere from a few days to a couple weeks -- is meant to help Hollums' brain recover from the traumatic injuries he suffered at a Championship Bull Riding event at the George Henderson Exposition Center in Lufkin on October 6th.

Hollums was protecting a cowboy who had been thrown from a bull when the bull stepped on him and kicked him in the head.

Hollums has remained unconscious since he was injured.

A fund has been set up for Hollums' benefit at Community National Bank.

If you'd like to add to this fund, please send donations to the following address.
