TXDOT officials say that an overheight truck load hit the Interstate 20 bridge at F.M. 700 on October 20th.
The collision damaged several beams on the overpass that carries the eastbound lanes of Interstate 20 over F.M. 700.
TXDOT crews had to close the eastbound lanes of Interstate 20 at F.M. 700 after the incident, and several lanes of F.M.700 were also closed under the bridge.
One of the eastbound lanes of Interstate 20 and one of the northbound lanes of F.M. 700 have been reopened in the area, but the other lanes will remain closed until repairs are finished.
Also, no load more than 10 feet wide -- or heavier than 80,000 pounds -- will be allowed on other roadway until the repairs are done.
TXDOT officials say that the repair work on the overpass should be finished by early December 2012.
