ODESSA -- A foot chase in Odessa that ended with 2 men in handcuffs actually started out as an undercover drug bust.

Drug Enforcement Agency officials and Odessa Police were working undercover near the Twin Peaks Restaurant on East 42nd Street and J.B.S. Parkway around 9:15 PM on October 25th, when they reportedly caught 2 men with a half pound of cocaine on them.

Police were able to slap the cuffs on one of the men near the Chili's parking lot along East 42nd Street, but the other man ran away.

Police, Ector County Sheriff's deputies, Federal Bureau of Investigation agents and D.E.A. agents worked to set up a perimeter in the area.

A Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter searched the area for the second suspect.

Law enforcement found and arrested the suspect in a nearby empty field around 11 PM on October 26th.

Both men are now facing federal cocaine possession charges.

The names of the men arrested haven't been released.
