ODESSA -- For the Odessa Bronchos, nobody expected them to compete with the high octane Abilene Eagles and the 44-6 score looks bad but the Bronchos showed some life against the Eagles in the first half.

They sustained a six minute drive in the first quarter with a couple key third down conversions and also converted a second quarter turnover into points on a 25-yard touchdown run by C.J. Eddison.

The Bronchos remain winless on the season with two games remaining, but it's not from a lack of trying.

"I saw a great effort from our kids," said Head Coach Ron King. "I saw our young men growing up as we were going in that first half. They competed hard and gave us a great effort. It was just playing a team thats a better football team then us and when you make those kinds of mistakes against those kinds of caliber teams they're going to make you pay. But I was extremely proud of our kids and the effort they gave that night."
