The superstorm named Sandy has forced both presidential candidates to tread lightly on the campaign trail.

Mitt Romney canceled a campaign event in Wisconsin Monday night, and made staff available for storm relief.

President Obama also canceled events in Florida and Virginia, and returned to Washington DC to address the nation on the storm.

While traditional campaigning is taking a backseat, analysts say both campaigns are looking to see how this storm might shift the election.

With the election eight days away, they say it's important for each candidate to look presidential.

One political expert thinks the better the federal response to the storm, the better Obama will look but if the response is poor, it will go against President Obama.
