The goal for this first year is to raise $2 million to contribute to the community parks in hopes to improve the quality of life in the City of Midland. According to a survey done last year, residents of Midland were satisfied with the recreation facilities. However, through this fund the goal is to keep improving them. The numbers showed in the survey that residents believe there is a lack of hiking and biking trails. Although, the commission is working to improve this aspect already; these are things this fund can strive to do year after year to improve and add new recreation facilities for the residents of Midland.
Parks and Recreation is a known factor in contributing to building a strong community, providing positive recreational experiences for residents of all ages, helping strengthen our community's safety and security and reduces criminal activity.
