ODESSA--- Superintendent Hector Mendez held a press conference at the Ector County I.S.D. building on Wednesday morning, after Ector County voters have voted in favor of the $129 million bond.
"It's a great feeling that the community voted in favor of us" says Mendez.
Mendez says that E.C.I.S.D. is excited to move forward with the new major improvements for the district.
By August 2014, Mendez says that three new elementary school campuses should be in place.
"Two of the three campuses will be located on the West side" says Mendez, and says that the location will be at West of Hwy 338 and North of 16th Street.
Along with the elementary schools, Mendez says they also plan to make an expansion of Odessa and Permian High School.
"What we're going to have to do is look at part of the street that's going to be needed, but the space is there" said Mendez about Permian High School's expansion.
Over at Odessa High School, Mendez says that it will require additional land and that they are currently in discussions over it.
