MIDLAND -- When some people think of seniors, they may think of people leisurely working on sewing projects and enjoying their retirement.

However, hundreds of seniors in Midland also provide a valuable service to the community by volunteering with Retired Seniors Volunteer Program (R.S.V.P.).

On Thursday, R.S.V.P. geld a thank you luncheon for senior volunteers.

Over the past year, R.S.V.P. volunteers worked more than 100,000 hours, saving Midland and Midland County about $2.2 million.
