AUSTIN -- Texas Governor Rick Perry has released the following statement after a train ran into parade float in Midland Thursday, killing 4 wounded military service members and injuring 17 other people.

"The tragedy of yesterday's train incident transcends the community who gathered to honor those who have given so much in service to their country. Their collective grief is being shared by Americans across this country as we mourn those who were lost.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families, and our hearts remain with the community as they began to heal."
