Unemployment Figures Below 4 Percent In Midland And Odessa In October

MIDLAND -- Unemployment figures in Midland and Odessa continue to hover below the 4 percent mark.

    The Texas Workforce Commission says that Midland and Odessa had the Lone Star State's lowest unemployment figures in October.

    Midland had the lowest unemployment in Texas in October, at 3.3 percent.

    Odessa had the second lowest unemployment in Texas in October, at 3.9 percent.

    The Texas unemployment rate was 6.6 percent in October.

    Those unemployment figures were down slightly from the 6.8 percent unemployment rate that was reported in Texas in September.

    Texas' unemployment rate is also well below the national unemployment rate of 7.9 percent.

    Texas employers added 36,600 total nonfarm jobs in October.
