LAMESA -- Several people have already applied for the soon-to-be-vacant Lamesa City Manager position.

Lamesa officials tell The Lamesa Press-Reporter that their city manager position position has been advertised in the Texas Municipal League.

Lamesa officials say that they've received 7 or 8 resumes already.

Lamesa officials expect that they'll get about 50 resumes for the position by mid-January.

Whoever is chosen as the new City Manager in Lamesa will take the place of Fred Vera, who is retiring.
