ODESSA -- An Odessa home is destroyed in an evening fire.

The flames broke out at a home in the 4100 block of Melody Lane (near Permian High School) around 8 PM Friday.

The fire quickly spread to the outside of a nearby home, which sustained some exterior damage.

Firefighters were able to knock down the flames, but they say the home the fire broke out in is now unlivable.

Fortunately, everyone was able to get out of the burning home.

Firefighters were also able to rescue a dog that was trapped inside.

There are no reports of any injuries from the fire.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation Friday night.
