Friday is World AIDS Day, and in advance of that the Centers for Disease Control released a new study documenting a rise in H-I-V infection among America's young people.

The CDC collected data on 13 to 24 year olds and found that youths accounted for 25% of the new cases in 2010.

Also, according to the report, more than half of young people infected with HIV were unaware of their infection.

Despite recommendations that young people get tested the report found that only 13% of high school students have.

The director of the CDC calls the state of infection among the young a preventable tragedy.
