According to the Facebook group Prayers and Support for Cody Hollums, Hollums has been walking for the past 2 weeks.
Family members say that Hollums has been getting stronger every day -- and he's doing more and more on his own.
Hollums was protecting a cowboy who had been thrown from a bull at a Championship Bull Riding event in Lufkin on October 6th, when the bull stepped on him and kicked him in the head.
Hollums was hospitalized at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler after the incident, and he was placed into a medically induced coma on October 16th.
The sedation was designed to allow Hollums' brain time to recover from the traumatic incident.
Hollums opened his eyes for the first time in days on October 23rd.
Hollums was transferred to a rehabilitation facility in Lubbock earlier this month.
A fund has been set up for Hollums' benefit at Community National Bank.
