CARLSBAD, NM -- A Carlsbad, NM man has been arrested in connection with a July burglary at a fast-food restaurant.

The Carlsbad Current-Argus reports that Leon A. Conaway was arrested by Eddy County Sheriff's deputies at the intersection of Texas Street and 3rd Street on November 27th.

Carlsbad Police say that Conaway, 27, broke into the Arby's at 1305 West Pierce Street in early July and stole $400 from the safe.

An assistant manager found out on July 9th that the drawers and safe at the restaurant had been emptied.

Investigators later determined that Conaway had recently been fired from the restaurant (where he was working under the name "Adam"), but had kept a key to the establishment.

Now, Conaway is charged with burglary.

As of Thursday evening, Conaway was being held in the Eddy County (NM) Detention Center.
