MIDLAND--It was red carpet night at the Midland Center for the second "Woman on the Rise Banquet".

The event is held bi-annually by the women ministries at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ. Big 2 News Horace Brown was the emcee at the event.

The banquet was a fund raiser to help women all throughout the Permian Basin reach their full potential and rise above their circumstances.

"Once you have committed to doing well, you will be able to rise to the occasion whatever it is. And we want women especially throughout the Permian basin to be cognizant of that fact and recognize that there's something better just hold on," said Sue Roseberry of Faith Temple COGIC.

She went on to say that this event isn't the end. Every day the women's ministry works to help woman make positive changes in their lives.

The church is always taking additional donations and willing to take calls to offer support.
