MIDLAND -- On Friday and Saturday, December 7 and 8, area residents will have the opportunity to view hundreds of nativities from all over the world.  Offered as a gift to the community as a way to "keep the CHRIST in Christmas". Friday's program will also feature performances from local choirs and musicians.

"As we begin the Christmas season, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints wish to offer the community an opportunity to come unto Christ. We invite the West Texas community to leave the rushed and crowded business of Christmas behind and focus on the miracle of our Savior's birth," says Jerry Zant, Stake President for the West Texas area. "The Christmas message is one of hope and love. It is a message of redemption and salvation.  We honor Christ as we celebrate His birth. We honor Him as we share the story of His humble beginning," continues Zant.

The event will be held Friday from 6:00pm to 9:30pm and Saturday from 11:00am to 8:00pm at the church's Gateway Street Chapel, 4805 Gateway, in Midland.  Performances on Friday include:
Midland Symphonic Band - 6:30pm
Santa Rita Elementary Choir - 7:15pm
Lee High School Brass Choir - 7:30pm
True-Lite Christian Fellowship Choir - 8:00pm

This event is free and open to the public.
