MIDLAND -- Emergency Department patients are entering Midland Memorial Hospital from a new entrance.

M.M.H. has opened its new Emergency Department entrance 24/7 in the new Scharbauer Tower.

The new entrance is near both the hospital's helipad and ample parking.

A first floor triage area with adequate seating also opened in the new tower on December 3rd.

The rest of the Scharbauer Tower -- including the new Emergency Department exam rooms -- will open for inpatients on December 19th.

For now, emergency patients will be escorted from triage to the existing Emergency Department for treatment.
