Arrest Warrant Issued For Man Accused Of 2010 Hobbs Murder

HOBBS, NM -- Hobbs (NM) Police have put out an arrest warrant for a man accused of involvement in a 2010 murder.

    Officers say that Juan Antonio Gallegos Martinez killed 31-year-old Carolina DeLeon in Hobbs on September 11, 2010.

    DeLeon's body was found in a field near North Thomas Drive and Bender Boulevard days after the murder.

    Police say that Martinez, 31, was linked to the crime scene by D.N.A. evidence.

    Martinez is currently serving a sentence in a Texas prison for unrelated charges.

    Hobbs Police say that Martinez will be extradited to New Mexico to face one count of murder.
