The U-S is sending crash experts to Mexico to help in the investigation into the plane crash that killed Latin singer Jenni Rivera.

The National Transportation Safety Board says its investigators will help the Mexican government. The Learjet with seven people on board went down Sunday afternoon in a mountainous area in northern Mexico. The flight was headed to Mexico City.

The Mexican news agency Notimex is reporting that the Learjet that crashed was 43-years-old. And according to N-T-S-B records, the plane suffered substantial damage in a 2005 accident in Texas.
