KERMIT -- Leo Manzano, the 2012 Olympic Silver Medalist in the men's 1500 meter race, will be in Kermit on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 to meet students and encourage them to pursue their dreams.

The two-time Olympian and former Longhorn, who earned his first individual medal at this year's London Olympics, has been a phenomenon in Texas running since he moved to Marble Falls, Texas with his family when he was four.

When his schedule allows, Manzano enjoys taking the time to visit with school children and help motivate them to do their best in school and in life.

Students at Kermit Elementary will begin their day by being greeted by the silver medalist!  Manzano will then make his way to Kermit High School for a brief speech for grades 5-12  at 10:45 a.m. in the high school auditorium.

The public is invited and welcome to attend the remarks.
