ODESSA -- Over 10,000 children in Ector County and over 8,000 in Midland County are food insecure.
That means they don't have access to regular, healthy meals so they can live a productive life.

When school is out, that means access to free- and reduced-prices lunches are off and that puts a burden on families. Don't forget seniors on fixed incomes- heating bills and unexpected medical costs can make a huge dent in budgets set aside for groceries.

You can get your donation in to the West Texas Food Bank before the end of the year and Uncle Sam will allow you to make a tax-deductible donation for your 2012 taxes if you donate by Dec. 31. With the fiscal cliff uncertain, who knows if tax-deductible donations will be around in the future. Now is the time to give!

$1 = 4 meals!!
