The Commerce Department says Americans earned more, spent more, and saved more in November.

A new report says personal income rose six-tenths of a percent and spending jumped 0.4%.

The Commerce Department adds, the savings rate nudged up to 3.6%, from October's 3.4%.

The encouraging news is partly due to Hurricane Sandy, which brought down income and spending levels in October.

Despite that, the numbers are even higher than economists had forecasted.
