MIDLAND---The Midland International Airport has been pretty busy this past week for the holidays.

Justine Ruff, the Deputy Director for the Midland International Airport says that this year the parking lots broke records.

"We get pretty busy here at the airport.  Most of our flights have been booked to the maximum capacity" says Ruff.

The parking lots got so full that the airport had to create an extra parking lot to accomodate the high volume of people parking their cars while out of town.

Daily rates for the parking lots are $8 for covered parking, $6 for closed-in parking and $4.25 for economy parking.

Ruff encourages people to give themselves extra time when travelling, and even says that some have missed their flights.

With school starting on January 7th, Ruff says that the rush will still be on for the next week and a half.
