MIDLAND -- Road work is continuing in Midland this week.

A contractor is adjusting manhole and water valve lids to match the newly paved asphalt on portions of Midkiff Road between Illinois Avenue and Wall Street and Illinois Avenue between Midland Drive and Thomason Drive.

The repairs are part of an ongoing mill/overlay project on both streets.

If the weather allows, crews will also be adding thermoplasic striping to "A" Street between Cuthbert Avenue and Scharbauer Drive.

Some lanes could be closed on these roads as the work progresses.

Drivers should avoid the affected roads if possible.
