AUSTIN -- A Texas senator is working hard to ensure that a statewide water plan is funded by the legislature.

Texas State Senator Kel Seliger is teaming with a delegation from the Panhandle -- which he also serves  -- to work on funding a Texas water plan.

"There's absolutely going to be legislation filed, some of it mine," said Seliger. "And what it anticipates is a statewide water plan that is going to help local communities and water districts fund plans in a 50 year planning window."

Seliger believes a plan is vital as Texas population continues to grow and drought conditions continue.
