No Jail Time For Those Accused Of Revving Engines To Street Race In Big Spring

By: Dylan Brooks
Updated: January 10, 2013
BIG SPRING -- Drivers caught revving their engines in Big Spring will no longer face a trip to jail.

The Big Spring City Council approved a new ordinance that changes exhibitions of sudden acceleration such as barking tires and slinging gravel from a Class B misdemeanor to a Class C misdemeanor during their meeting on January 8th.

According to The Big Spring Herald, the change in classification allows police officers to issue citations for drivers caught doing such moves.

Currently, drivers pulled over for this issue must head to jail.
