Texas Workforce Commissioner Visits Odessa College

ODESSA -- Odessa College is looking at ways to increase vocational training to meet the needs booming economy.

    O.C. hosted Texas Workforce Commissioner Tom Pauken Wednesday.

    Pauken -- a commissioner representing employers -- presented ways to improve technical training and skilled trade training.

    Pauken says the average age of welders and plumbers are 55 and 56.

    Pauken added that there is a shortage of skilled laborers across the state.
