Sen . Hagel Nomination Hearing Set

Chuck Hagel's nomination hearing for the job of defense secretary will take place on January 31st.

The Senate Armed Services Committee announced the date yesterday.

The former Senator's nomination has been met with reservations by some senators of both parties.

They point to past positions he has taken on Israel, Iran, and his 2007 comment that a quote -- "Jewish lobby intimidated lawmakers."

Senators Chuck Schumer and Barbara Boxer, both Democrats and Jewish, earlier this week said they had overcome their initial skepticism and would support the nomination.
