MIDLAND -- A rollover crash shut down a Midland road for several hours on Friday morning.

Midland Police say that a 2003 Mercury Mountaineer was heading north on Fairgrounds Road between Wadley Avenue and Loop 250 around 2:45 AM on Friday, when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The Mercury rolled over and knocked over some power lines in the area.

The driver of the Mercury was thrown from the vehicle in the crash.

Both the driver and the passenger in the vehicle were rushed to Midland Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say both people in the Mercury weren't wearing seat belts.

Officers add that both people will likely face alcohol-related charges.

ONCOR and Midland Police closed Fairgrounds Road between Wadley Avenue and Loop 250 after the crash, as crews worked to clean up the crash and repair power lines.

The roadway reopened around noon on Friday.
