Hobbs, NM Man Charged With Murder After Fatal Weekend Shooting

HOBBS, NM -- Hobbs (NM) Police have arrested a man in connection with a weekend murder.

    Emilio Romero is charged with first degree murder.

    Police say that Romero, 23, shot Stephen De Moss of Hobbs at a home in the 1900 block of North Blanco Drive around 5:45 PM on January 27th.

    De Moss, 33, was still alive when police got to the scene.

    However, De Moss later died from his gunshot wounds at Lea Regional Medical Center.

    As of Monday, Romero was being held in the Hobbs City Jail on $1 million bond.
