Man Hit Into Street, Run Over By Vehicle In Carlsbad, NM

Carlsbad Police say that Dennis Lewis was knocked unconscious in the incident, which happened following an altercation near the Domino's Pizza (905 West Lea Street) in Carlsbad around 10:35 PM on February 1st.
Police say that Lewis, 55, his son Aaron Lewis, 30, and Mike Huff were heading north on Boyd Street in Dennis Lewis' pickup truck when Aaron Lewis and Dennis Lewis got into an argument.
Dennis Lewis reportedly got out of the vehicle near the intersection of Boyd Street and West Lea Street and he started walking across the intersection the intersection.
Aaron Lewis reportedly turned the pickup truck west onto Lea Street and pulled over near the Domino's.
At that point, Dennis Lewis reportedly came up to the truck and told Aaron Lewis to get out.
Aaron Lewis allegedly responded by hitting Dennis Lewis, who fell face first into the street in front of an oncoming vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle -- 45-year-old Abel Marquez -- tried to swerve out of the way, but he couldn't avoid running over Dennis Lewis.
Dennis Lewis was rushed to Carlsbad Medical Center after the incident with difficulty breathing, and a bleeding wound on his forehead.
Dennis Lewis was unconscious when he was taken to the hospital, but he was treated for his injuries.
No one involved in the incident decided to pursue criminal charges.
