ODESSA -- A Veterans Affairs Clinic in Odessa is now one step closer to reality.

The V.A. Permian Basin Community Based Outpatient Clinic will be next to Medical Center Hospital's Center for Health and Wellness.

Tuesday night, the Ector County Hospital District board approved the total project price tag of $11 million for the new facility.

M.C.H. officials say they plan to begin construction on the two-story, 43,000 square foot building next month.

In addition to the V.A. clinic, the new building will also house about 7,000 square feet of physician office space on the second floor.

The building construction is expected to be complete in March 2014.

Once the facility is complete, M.C.H officials say the V.A. and physicians will be leasing their space from the hospital.
