Man Indicted For Involvement In Kermit Officer-Involved-Shooting

The grand jury indicted Nicholas Chad Weaver on felony aggravated assault against a public servant charges on February 6th.
Weaver was seriously injured when Kermit Police Officer Donnie Jowers shot him in a scuffle during a traffic stop at the intersection of West Halley Street and Robinson Street around 7:35 PM on January 24th.
The indictment states that weaver ran at Jowers, hit him and pulled out a Glock model 21 .45 caliber handgun before the shooting took place.
Weaver was flown to University Medical Center in Lubbock after the shooting.
Weaver was booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center on January 27th, after he was released from the hospital.
Weaver was booked into the Winkler County Jail on January 31st.
As of Friday afternoon, Weaver was being held in the Winkler County Jail on $100,000 bond.
