Suspicious Person Report Leads To Lockdown At Fort Stockton Middle School

FORT STOCKTON -- A report of a suspicious person leads to a school lockdown in Fort Stockton.

    Fort Stockton I.S.D. officials tell Big 2 that a staff member at Fort Stockton Middle School a suspicious person they didn't recognize near the school on Tuesday morning.

    Officials quickly put the school on lockdown as they investigated the situation.

    Students were kept in their classrooms while staff and Fort Stockton Police checked the school and the surrounding area for the person.

    Officials ultimately found the suspicious person, but they determined that the person was at the school for a meeting and posed no threat to the safety of the students.

    School officials then lifted the lockdown at 11 AM Tuesday.
