Community members and workers came out for the unveiling of the brand new Lucky Paws Tree House cat shelter. The shelter was funded by the Emma Barnsley Foundation. The brand new facility will be able to hold 125 cats and kittens.
"This allows us to find homes for these in door cats that normally wouldn't have a home and would be running the streets starving. All these cats have a warm place now they're well fed, well cared for and we're a no killed shelter we don't euthanize anything. It stays here until it gets adopted," said volunteer and former board member Bryan Yancey.
Before the completion of the new facility, the humane society had to turn away kittens because the original facility wasn't equipped to hold kitten and cats together. Now with more space and spay and neutering services more cats and kittens can be taken in.
