GLASSCOCK COUNTY -- Texas Department of Public Safety troopers have also identified an oil driller killed in a head-on crash in southern Glasscock County.

Brad Nivens of Borger was killed in the wreck, which happened along F.M. 33 south of F.M. 2401 in Southern Glasscock County around 6:40 PM on February 19th.

Troopers tell Big 2 that Nivens was heading south on F.M. 33 in a 2009 G.M.C. pickup truck when an oncoming 2006 Mack truck (which was hauling a 2012 polar trailer) swerved into the southbound lane and smashed head-on into the pickup truck.

Nivens, 29, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers aren't sure if Nivens was wearing a seat belt.

The driver of the Mack truck-- 44-year-old Kieth Reese -- was treated and released from Midland Memorial Hospital after the crash.
