The Big Spring Herald reports that Samuel Lee Lyte was to 25 years in prison last week.
The sentence came after Lyte, 72, pleaded guilty to felony charges of continuous sexual abuse of a child, aggravated sexual abuse of a child, 2 counts of indecency with a child and tampering with physical evidence in the 118th Judicial District Court.
Lyte sexually abused a girl (who's only identified as being under the of 14) multiple times.
Lyte reportedly met while working as a youth minister at the Mount Bethel Baptist Church.
Lyte was fired from the church after the pastor's daughter gave him an inappropriate note she got from Lyte -- although it's unclear if the pastor's daughter was the victim of the sex crimes.
Lyte was arrested on October 22, 2012, and he was indicted on November 8, 2012.
Lyte has also reportedly worked as a musician at the St. James Baptist Church in Odessa before he started his position in Big Spring.
